Below The Surface

“Nothing changes if nothing changes”

As I was vacuuming the steps this morning, I noticed the railings.  It reminded me that I needed to repaint them.  Something said, “why not just take a damp cloth and wipe them off”.  I thought to myself why not.  As I begin to wipe them off, I was so disgusted at how much dirt was on the railings.  It was not even the fact that I needed to touch it up with paint but that it needed to be cleaned off. My youngest daughter was coming down the steps and I said do you see how clean this is?  She said, “was all of that dirt?”  I replied, “yes.  We were both surprised and disgusted. So, we know we need to clean them off more often.

I went back to finish cleaning the steps and as I was cleaning in the crease of the steps the Lord started dealing with me about how we are sometimes ok with just dealing with the surface things in our life. Dealing with the surface does not require much work nor does it allow us to walk in total freedom. We appear to look like we have it all together and we are a mess, we appear to be ok and when we are not, we appear to be happy and we are miserable or we appear to be well and we are really sick. We do not want anyone to know that we are silently suffering, and it is killing us.

“What is being manifested on the surface is the overflow of what has existed underneath”

The things that normally surface to the top are the things that have already being existing from within.  Currently we are in a pandemic and the death of yet another black man that has now started a Revolution is finally causing us to deal with what has always been. Racism at its best and a systemic system that needs to be broken. Although this did not begin with George Floyd, it has lit a fire to start the process of some necessary changes as well as healing. Our nation has appeared to be well and we have been sick for a long time. It is now starting to rear its ugly head.

For things to progress and change we can no longer just deal with the surface. What is on the surface is not the real issue and it will only bring temporary healing. We must dig deep and pull it up from the root. The system they created is working the way it is supposed to. Until a system that was never created for us changes and we get rid of the people who continue to work that same system, we will continue this same fight.

“Keep thy heart with all dilligience; for out of it are the issues of life” Proverbs 4:23

Before there can be a true change in a nation there also has to be a change within us.  This is also shinning a light on where we are individually and our need for change. The true work begins within. Then we can be more effective to the change in our homes, our community, and our nation.

My prayer is that you would allow God to deal with the root of those things that keep surfacing to the top, so that you can walk in total freedom and victory. That you would have the motivation and strength to do the work needed so that you can be free.

In the Midst of Tragedy

Photo by Isabella Mariana on Pexels.com

“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;”

1 Corinthians 1:27

I did a follow up call with someone that I was talking with earlier today. She was concerned about whether she was going to get paid or not due to school closings. I found out the information that was needed and as a courtesy, I wanted to follow up with the call. In doing so it opened up a door for conversation. I didn’t know her and she didn’t know me, but we talked as if we had known each other forever and we talked on the phone for at least 15 minutes.

Do you sometimes wonder why does it always take a tragedy for us being a little more kinder, to show more love and support, going the extra mile, for us to be doing more of what we should have been doing already?

It would probably be safe to say that sometimes we forget, we lose sight, we lose touch or allow the cares of this life to cause us to be disconnected.

Though things are so uncertain at the moment and they have changed so many times in the course of a day. As people are hurting and in turmoil they grow weary causing them to be unsure of what to do next. It is in these moments in the midst of tragedy everywhere, that I still feel that there is hope for humanity.

God knew us before we were even formed in our mothers womb and knows actually what it takes to get us back on the path that he has called for us to be. Just like the ingredients it takes to bake your favorite cake or meal, it is those ingredients of life that God uses to create us into who he has called us to be. Unfortunately, he uses a little of bit of tragedy, sorrow, along with joy, happiness, peace and discomfort, etc. and he mixes them all together to mold us an make us.

” Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am they God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will up hold thee with the right hand of my righteousness”

Isaiah 41:10

Sometimes things have to die, so that other things can live.  Dying to old habits, old mindsets, our selfish ways, so that we can birth to new habits, new ideas, create a better path that others may follow. It’s up to each one of us to be willing to make the necessary changes so that we will become better as a result of it. There is still life even in the midst of tragedy.

In this time of quarantine we should all be willing to do a self examination of the things we need to change within ourselves. What are the areas where we need to heal?  Is there someone we need to forgive? As much as we want things to go back to the way they used to be, things will never be the same again.

Yet I still have this hope that we will all be better after this, as it is causing us to change and have a different aspect on life.  Only those that remain the same are the ones that refuse to change.

Here I am Lord, let the work begin in me!

“Create in my a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit with me”

Create in me a new heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me
Cast me not away from thy presence, oh God
Take not thy Holy Spirit from me

Holy Spirit help me to walk right
Talk right, live right, help me to be right
I’ll never do anything without
Your leading spirit, Holy Spirit

Cast me not from thy presence, oh Lord
Take not Your spirit
Take not Your spirit from me
Take not Your spirit from me
Take not Your spirit from me

Necessary

“It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statues”
Psalm 119:71

Already at the beginning of this a New Year most of us if not all of us have already experienced some type of loss, hurt, pain, betrayal, and disappointment. With extreme anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and fear.

By the end of January people were ready to give up and throw in the towel. I had seen post that said, “Thank you January for a good year.” Because of the magnitude of their afflictions, they have already counted out the rest of the year.

Today’s Word

af-flic-tion
suffering, distress, pain, trouble, misery, hardship, misfortune, adversity, sorrow, torment, anguish, grief

“We are troubled on every side, yet not destressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken, cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body”

2 Corinthians 4:8-10

In life we will experience things coming from all different directions and sometimes several things all at once, yet God will give us peace even during our storm. Life happens to us all and there are somethings that will throw us for a loop, have us scratching our head, baffled, puzzled, and confused. But because our hope and our faith lie in Jesus Christ, we don’t become desperate, thirsty and hungry after the wrong things.

Have you ever been talked about, lie on, cheated, used, and abused, but when you look around God was still there? He promised that he would never leave us nor forsake us, and He is always true to his word. Even in times when things are not going well in your life know that God has not forgotten about you. Though we are tossed to and fro, thrown away, disregarded, and rejected, I find the strength to push through because I know though the weapons may form, they want to prosper.

As Jesus hung on the cross, he had a moment where He questioned God, but he said not my will, but thine will be done. He said, “IT IS FINISHED”, hung his head and gave up the Ghost. Now as a believer we have to walk out the finish work on the Cross. So, in the end we still win. God will complete the work that he has started in us, but we must participate in the plan that he has for our lives.

NECESSARY…

Despite our afflictions when we trust in Jesus Christ, we are able to overcome and conquer the very things that should have taken us out. Through these scriptures I found encouragement and strength of some of the things that I will experience even while going through, if I faint not.

Psalms 34:19 Deliverance
2 Corinthians 12:9 Grace
1 Corinthians 10:13 Way of escape
Romans 8:18 His Glory revealed
Roman’s 5:3-4 Patience, Experience & Hope
Philipians 4:13 I can
James 5:11 Mercy
Psalms 22:24 Continual Praise
John 16:33 Peace

So why in the world would a God want us to go through affliction?

NECESSARY…

When David the Psalmist talked about “it was good for me that I have been afflicted” he was referencing to the fact of the change that it was rearing within him. No, it did not feel good, no he didn’t like it, nor appreciated it initially, but yet it allowed him to know God in a different way.

There were 3 continual prayers throughout David’s journey which were:

1. Psalms 119:11 “Thy word have I hid in my mine heart, that I might not sin against thee”
In order for God’s word to be hidden in his heart, meant he had to learn it, study it, meditate, contemplate, ponder, consider, reflect, digest on it day and night. Because of his love for God, his desire more than anything in the world was to know him and to please him by keeping his commandments.

2. Psalm 119:105 “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path”
Through God’s word it will give us clarity, direction, a guide and a light even when the path seems dark. In Psalm 23 it talks about the Lord being a shepherd, so even if you were to get off the path his word will be like a GPS system and put us back on track. We must be willing to follow his direction and his plan for our life even when we don’t understand, or the way seems is unsure.

3. Psalms 119:133 “Order my steps in Your Word: And let not any iniquity have dominion over me”
He wanted God’s word to guide him, to align him and to not allow anyone’s wicked, sinful, evil, scandalist, unjust, and unfair actions of man to overtake him.

NECESSARY…

It is through the pressing together that the oil in your life is manifested. So, when you feel the pressure or the fire might intensify, it is because God is pruning and refining you into something greater. Do not be overcome but overcome through Christ Jesus.

Strength For The Journey

wp-1491352382256.jpg

“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”

Isaiah 40:29-31

Can I tell you how happy I am now that Spring has finally decided to arrive. I thought that it would never get here.  The only thing though is that along with that comes allergy season.  You also don’t know how to prepare yourself with what to wear from day to day, because the weather is back and forth. I guess I would rather deal with that than snow.

So, I look at the weather every morning and try to gauge what to wear.  As simple as that may sound, it isn’t. As you know mother nature has a mind of her own and will switch up at any given moment without a notice. The only thing you can do is try to be prepared and then adjust with whatever may happen.

Don’t allow the reality of where you are now, cause you to miss out on your destiny to where you are going

Today’s word:

delay

  • postpone or defer an action
  • a period of time by which something is late or delayed
  • to put off until a later time

In life’s journey it can be very fickle and can change on you in a heartbeat. It can sometimes be very long, hard, tiring and can cause a lot of delays. What I have come to realize is that God will always give you strength for the journey. I know sometimes our strength fails us, but when we can rely on his strength we are then able to make it through.

“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait,                    I say, on the Lord”

Psalm 27:14

Recently, my daughters and I were on our way to Los Angeles to visit my oldest daughter. This was their very 1st time flying.  Our flight was suppose to leave at 2:45 p.m. Every 30 mins we kept getting a notification that our flight had been delayed. It is a little easier when the delay is 30 mins to an hour.  But what happens when your delays turn into days, weeks or even years?  It wasn’t until 7 hours later that we were able to board the flight, which was 10:45 p.m. This meant that we would not get into L.A. until a little after 2:00 a.m., which was 5:00 a.m. our time. As frustrating, overwhelming and unbearable that was at times, somehow while I was waiting I was reassured through my faith that if my delay is designed by God then he sitll has a purpose and a plan.

Your delays don’t mean that you won’t ever get to your destination, just that it’s going to take a little bit longer than you anticipated.

I believe our biggest frustration comes in the moments when we are delayed along the journey.  That holding and waiting period when we don’t know what to do or where to go. We know that the season has passed, but yet God hasn’t given us direction on where we need to go.

The frustration, the overwhelming feeling we get from being impatient, tiredness, discomfort, etc. can sometimes come when we don’t know how to utilize the time we have while we wait. Could it be that God  is trying to get your attention because he needs your time, that he wants to speak to you or maybe there is something he is trying to do in you and through you?

I have never had to wait that long in an airport especially when weather wasn’t involved. To come and find out our delay was all because we didn’t have a flight crew. Like what, are you serious, how can you not have a flight crew?  What we may call a delay is perfect timing for God.  Is doesn’t mean it won’t happen, just not yet.  God protects the things that he loves. Later finding out the the tornado storms that happened during the week caused other flights to be delayed, cancelled or them being at the airport for almost 3 days. It caused others to work overtime, which also caused conflict with the scheduling of other flights. Someone else always has it worst off than you.  It made me be more appreciative for where I am.  Thank God for clearing the way before I got there.

Though the journey is unpredictable and sometimes the mountains are hard to climb, his GRACE is sufficient

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficients for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.                                                Most gladly therefore will I rather flory in  my infirmitis,                                                              that the power of Christ may rest upon me”

2 Corinthians 12:9

I realize that no matter what I go through in this journey that God is always there for me and that he will never lead me astray.  It is for me to trust him even when I don’t understand, when I can’t quite see or even when I don’t know exatcly what to do. In those times that I am waiting or even delayed to not allow it overwhelm me or frustrate me because I know he is yet preparing me as he is clearing the way for me to make it safely through.

So many loose out in the journey because they get lost in the destractions that are on the side of the road.  They try to do it on their own and don’t totally trust in the God in which they say they serve.

This journey requires that we trust in a God that we can’t physically see, but yet we know that he is there. Above all, that we STAY FOCUSED on his plan for our life. Turning over our control and will to allow him to lead.

“How Much We Can Bear” Hezekiah Walker

LYRICS:

If in your life you are going through

And you don’t know really what to do

Just call on Jesus, he will see you through

For he knows, Jesus he knows

How much we can bear

If there are trials that have come your way

And you are looking for a brighter day

Just call on Jesus, he will make away

For he knows,  Jesus he knows

How much we can bear

Taking The First Step

wp-1490458263221.jpg

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord; and he deligheth in his way”

Psalm 37:23

Have you ever had something that you knew you should be doing, but you were so afraid to do it?  Maybe an idea, a dream or a vision and sat on it,  only years later to regret the fact that you didn’t go for it.

Sometimes making the first step is one of the hardest things to do, but is it worth the life time of regret because you never did

Today’s word:

step

noun

  • an act or movement of putting one leg in front of the other in walking or running
  • a measure or action, especially one of a series taken in order to deal with or achieve a particular thing

Just like a toddler when they start to take their first steps in learning how to walk, they fall several times, but yet they countinue to get back up.  Sometimes you will see them holding on to something until they find the courage and strength to be able to stand on their own. They practice maintaining their balance before they take another step. The excitement after they have made a couple of steps, they kept their balance and they didn’t fall. Before you know it they are now running.  Depending on the person it may take sometime and then there are some that take off running after the 1st step. The thing is they never stopped trying until they got it right.

Failure is sometimes the motivation to keep trying, while never starting creates a habit to never finish.

What are some fears?

Failure– what if it doesn’t work “My strength is made perfect in your weakness” 2 Corinthians 12:9

Doubt – can I really do this “For God has not given us the Spirit of fear” 2 Timothy 1:7

Opinion of others – will they support me “If God be for us” Romans 8:31

Many people have died with their dreams because they listened to the opinion of other people. They lacked self confidience and determination. There is strength in knowning who you are. It is the pulse that causes the soul to soar.

Our Identity In Christ

You can never finish what you never start.

Life indeed happens to us all.  It can sometimes throw us some unexpected curve balls that we never saw coming at all.  It can sometimes put a pause on somethings, but it should never stop you to the point where you stop living.

Whatever you put on hold or never started; whether it was that book, ministry, recording an album, your business, etc take the 1st step and go for it.

Don’t die with your dreams.  Live the life that God has created you to live. #LIVEOUTLOUD and #ONPURPOSE

SONG LIST

Every step of a righteous man
Is ordered by God
Ordered
Though you may not know his mind
He will reveal it all in time
Just know till then

Gear Up

wp-1488040922888.jpg

You can’t expect to win a fight if you refuse to get in the ring.

I do believe as the scripture says in Exodus 14:14  that the Lord will fight for us and we will hold our peace. This still requires our participation in order for those battles to be won. Moses still had to listen and to follow the instructions of God in order to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt.

The things in which we come up against are operated by a spirit using other people or things as the vehicle in order for it to be manifested.  And in order to win those battles we have to know how to fight. You can only fight a spirit, by the spirit of God.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but agaisnt principalities, against powers, against the trulers of the darkness of this world, against spritual wickedness in high places” Ephesians 6:12

1 Samuel 17 David and Goliath

A lot of times we loose the battle or the fight and are unable to move forward or follow through on a task  because we have lack of confidience in who we are through Christ Jesus.

Today’s Word

con·fi·dent Scriptures

adjective

  • feeling or showing certainty about something
  • feeling or showing confidence in oneself; self-assured

David had confidience in who he was and whose he was. He also realized the thing in which he possessed in Christ Jesus.  He believed that the same God that did it before, could do it again.

IDENTITY

1. Knowing  who I Am  “Who I Am In Christ”

2. Knowing who I belong to   “I AM”

Most of my life my identity was wrapped up in other people that only led me astray. I was easily manipulated and controlled into doing certain things, all in search for what I thought was love, a need to feel wanted and needing someone to tell me who I was. Instead it left me with pain.

It wasn’t until I found out who I  was in Christ Jesus that I became confidient in who I am and knew that no matter my circumstances or my situations, through Him I could conquer anything.

Philippians 4:13

” I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me”

What are you fighting with?

Ephesians 6:10-18 The Armor of God

“Our greatest defeat in any battle is not the obstacle that we see before us, but not knowing  who we are and what we possess”

The size of the gaint never fazed David, because he knew just how big his God was. He wasn’t intimdiated, he wasn’t moved by it. He stood flat foot and he told that 6 foot Philistine Gaint just what God was going to do and through his faith and trust in God he took down the gaint with a sling shot and a rock.

There isn’t anything that we can’t over come with Jesus Christ, but we have to take our eyes off of the thing in which we see.

Don’t tell God how big your problem is, tell your problem how big your God is.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It’s not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others”

Song List

“Work It Out” By Tye Tribbett

It happened, NOW WHAT?

A lot of times we become stuck at the experience, unable to move forward because we can’t see past what has happened.
We continue to play and rehearse the scenes over and over again in our head. With the same questions: why did this happen, why did this happen to me, etc. Unable to heal because we continue to open up the wounds.

ACKNOWLEGEMENT

  1. It happened
  2. It was painful, it hurt
  3. It was life changing
  4. It wasn’t fair
  5. I didn’t deserve it

At some point we have to pull the needle off of the broken record. We have to stop playing the movie of our favorite scene or maybe the worse scene in our life. At some point we have to pull our own selves out of the tar.

It has happened, NOW WHAT?

I realized there was a decision I had to make. And that was to either to LIVE or DIE. I wasn’t physically dieing, but slowly of a spiritual death. Walking, but dead on the inside. No hope or desire to go on. Breathing, but not functiong. I was a dead man walking.

Proverbs 29:18

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he

What kind of vision do I have for myself?

TRUTH is I had to come to terms with it.

  1. I had to look at the man in the mirror
  2. Examine myself
  3. Where did I go wrong
  4. OWN IT

Don’t get me wrong, I know that there are somethings that have happened to us that stole our innocence as a child. There were somethings that happened to us that was beyond our control.  But at what point do we stop allowing it to have control over our life.

You will never be able heal from the things you refuse to confront

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

It wasn’t until I could look beyond what I could see in the natural, that I was able to move forward.

DISCOVERY

  1. Finding out who I am through Christ Jesus
  2. Believing in who He has created me to be
  3. Learning to Love me
  4. Putting me first

Through everything I have experienced there was something that I had to learn and I take them with me through life’s journey.

So, NOW WHAT?

  1. Allow yourself time to heal
  2. Take it step by step
  3. Trust God’s leading
  4. Keep Moving Forward

It isn’t what happens to us that keeps us from moving forward, but how we respond to the things that have happened.

Take your negative situations and turn them around for your good.

Philippians 3:12-14

Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.  Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,  I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Small Beginnings

The other day me and my girls had gone to visit my sister and her family. As we were looking at the gifts my nephews had received for Christmas my sister was holding one in her hand that she was getting ready to put away. She said that her mother had gotten them for the boys, but when she looked at all it entailed she said there was no way she was going to even attempt with putting it together. I looked at the box and then took out the contents and said, “Let me try it.” They thought that I was crazy, but I didn’t have any doubt I couldn’t do it. It was a very long an strenuous process. It was a roller coaster that had a million tiny pieces. And looking at the picture there was a big hill and at least four loops with curves. You had to follow directions which caused you to be able to pay attention to details. Now that is one of my strong points. As I would progress they stood in amazement and were surprised that I hadn’t given up yet. My sister told my I had the patience of Job. She said, “You have been steady, diligent and focused.” I was almost finished with it, but there was a part at the bottom that wasn’t working properly which was causing me to get frustrated. It had already been at least three hours that I had been working on it and I was a little tired. I couldn’t understand what was going on because I had followed the directions. I had  to improvise in order for it to work. When I looked at the back of the instruction manual I realized it operated on batteries. You have got to be kidding me, right. I had not noticed it said anything about batteries until I looked at the front of the manual and there it was. I’m not sure how I missed that. Either way I was able to get it operating, but the cart wasn’t gaining enough speed to make all the transitions. I couldn’t figure it out to save my life. Frustrated, I decided to pull myself away from it. Deep breath. In the back of my mind I was still trying to figure it out because I wasn’t willing to give up on it. I had come to far and had put too  much work into it to just let it go. Something said, “Start the cart from the bottom of the hill and reverse the direction  it was pulling up the hill.”  With excitement I screamed, “I did it, it works” Everyone came in to see it. There were two areas within the loops that it wouldn’t complete the flip, but with a little push it completed the loops and started over. We were all happy with that. My nephew was ready  to try it for himself.

Zechariah 4:10 ” Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand”

Sometimes we can become discouraged, frustrated, overwhelmed and want to give up because we think what we are doing isn’t working. But the same process it takes for a seed to become a plant, a flower or even a tree or a caterpillar to become a butterfly, is the same process it will take for our visions, hopes and our dreams to come into fruition. We have to keeping working at it and watering it. Before we know it the very thing that started off small has turned into something much bigger than we had even expected.  What was once a dream has become a reality. My encouragement to you is, “Don’t give up on it just yet.”

I Am Determined Beyond The Struggle

de-ter-mi-nation

  • firmness of purpose; resolve

  • the result of such ascetaining

I had been dealing with somethings on my job, that I didn’t feel like was fair. It felt as if I didn’t have a voice in the matter.  It was so stressful to the point that I even thought about leaving. I haven’t ever been much of a quiter and the only time I left my job was when I was a single mother in my early 20’s  and what I was getting wasn’t enough to take care of me and my child. Like something had to give.  I was trying my best and it just seemed as if my best wasn’t good enough.  One day I came home and I began to cry out to the Lord asking for his guidance and his direction in what he wanted me to do. All I could hear him say was stay and trust me with you. Allow me to work on you, in you and through you. I had to humble myself enough to allow God to do the work . Sometimes we want God to change the situation when in most cases the change needs to begin within us. I had to change my perspective and look at it from another angle. Instead of looking at it as a disadvantage, but working it for my advantage. Romans 8:28 “All things work together for the good of them that love God and are called according to his purpose”.  The greatest change that we can ever see is when the change begins within us.  I admit I can be a little edgy and I like who I am, but God said I need to put you back on the wheel. This time I didn’t fight him, nor resist. The work God has done in the matter of weeks has been amazing and it is only the beginning. This has been a humbling experience and it feels good to not only see what he is doing, but to experience it first hand. It wasn’t just my job, but my whole life is changing through this experience. He used my job to change me, which is changing things in my life and birthing forth somethings out of this situation.  It is the 8th month  and the number 8 means “new beginning”. What are you allowing God to do in you? We always come to God asking him to do something new, but yet we don’t want to do the work it takes for those things to happen. We have to participate. Even when I wanted to quit there was something in me that kept me pushing through. It is through the process that I am changing and so are the things around me. I found my voice and am now able to walk in my roll. DON’T QUIT, JUST DO IT. You will be better because of it.

Taking It Back

“You are worthless, you will never amount to anything, you will never be anybody special, you are no good, you are a failure, you mean nothing to me”

Those are some of the words we have heard in our life time. As we kept hearing them over and over again, we thought, it must be true. At some point we took those things in and gave up our power to be. Even when someone tried to tell us different we didn’t believe it because we had already posioned ourselves with those other negative thoughts and images. They came from people who were the closest to us, the people we loved and who we thought loved us in return. What we failed to realize is that the negative words they spoke over us were the things they felt about themselves. As long as they weakened others, in their own eyes they felt and remained “strong”. That’s not strength, that’s being a coward. True strength comes from being able to lift someone up, not by tearing them down. No one can take anything away from you unless you lay it down. You gave away your power and your strength. Well I have good news for you, today is a new day. Today is, “TAKE BACK MY POWER DAY”. You are not those ugly things they have said about you or to you. “You are priceless, you are somebody, you are going somewhere, your failures are making you into someone great, there is someone out there just for you, you are loved beyond measure”. Today transform your mind and replace the negative thoughts and images with postives ones and watch your life transform right before your eyes. Today is a good day to take another step forward. Reposition yourself. I BELIEVE in YOU. NOW YOU BELIEVE in YOURSELF.
