Strength For The Journey

wp-1491352382256.jpg

“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”

Isaiah 40:29-31

Can I tell you how happy I am now that Spring has finally decided to arrive. I thought that it would never get here.  The only thing though is that along with that comes allergy season.  You also don’t know how to prepare yourself with what to wear from day to day, because the weather is back and forth. I guess I would rather deal with that than snow.

So, I look at the weather every morning and try to gauge what to wear.  As simple as that may sound, it isn’t. As you know mother nature has a mind of her own and will switch up at any given moment without a notice. The only thing you can do is try to be prepared and then adjust with whatever may happen.

Don’t allow the reality of where you are now, cause you to miss out on your destiny to where you are going

Today’s word:

delay

  • postpone or defer an action
  • a period of time by which something is late or delayed
  • to put off until a later time

In life’s journey it can be very fickle and can change on you in a heartbeat. It can sometimes be very long, hard, tiring and can cause a lot of delays. What I have come to realize is that God will always give you strength for the journey. I know sometimes our strength fails us, but when we can rely on his strength we are then able to make it through.

“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait,                    I say, on the Lord”

Psalm 27:14

Recently, my daughters and I were on our way to Los Angeles to visit my oldest daughter. This was their very 1st time flying.  Our flight was suppose to leave at 2:45 p.m. Every 30 mins we kept getting a notification that our flight had been delayed. It is a little easier when the delay is 30 mins to an hour.  But what happens when your delays turn into days, weeks or even years?  It wasn’t until 7 hours later that we were able to board the flight, which was 10:45 p.m. This meant that we would not get into L.A. until a little after 2:00 a.m., which was 5:00 a.m. our time. As frustrating, overwhelming and unbearable that was at times, somehow while I was waiting I was reassured through my faith that if my delay is designed by God then he sitll has a purpose and a plan.

Your delays don’t mean that you won’t ever get to your destination, just that it’s going to take a little bit longer than you anticipated.

I believe our biggest frustration comes in the moments when we are delayed along the journey.  That holding and waiting period when we don’t know what to do or where to go. We know that the season has passed, but yet God hasn’t given us direction on where we need to go.

The frustration, the overwhelming feeling we get from being impatient, tiredness, discomfort, etc. can sometimes come when we don’t know how to utilize the time we have while we wait. Could it be that God  is trying to get your attention because he needs your time, that he wants to speak to you or maybe there is something he is trying to do in you and through you?

I have never had to wait that long in an airport especially when weather wasn’t involved. To come and find out our delay was all because we didn’t have a flight crew. Like what, are you serious, how can you not have a flight crew?  What we may call a delay is perfect timing for God.  Is doesn’t mean it won’t happen, just not yet.  God protects the things that he loves. Later finding out the the tornado storms that happened during the week caused other flights to be delayed, cancelled or them being at the airport for almost 3 days. It caused others to work overtime, which also caused conflict with the scheduling of other flights. Someone else always has it worst off than you.  It made me be more appreciative for where I am.  Thank God for clearing the way before I got there.

Though the journey is unpredictable and sometimes the mountains are hard to climb, his GRACE is sufficient

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficients for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.                                                Most gladly therefore will I rather flory in  my infirmitis,                                                              that the power of Christ may rest upon me”

2 Corinthians 12:9

I realize that no matter what I go through in this journey that God is always there for me and that he will never lead me astray.  It is for me to trust him even when I don’t understand, when I can’t quite see or even when I don’t know exatcly what to do. In those times that I am waiting or even delayed to not allow it overwhelm me or frustrate me because I know he is yet preparing me as he is clearing the way for me to make it safely through.

So many loose out in the journey because they get lost in the destractions that are on the side of the road.  They try to do it on their own and don’t totally trust in the God in which they say they serve.

This journey requires that we trust in a God that we can’t physically see, but yet we know that he is there. Above all, that we STAY FOCUSED on his plan for our life. Turning over our control and will to allow him to lead.

“How Much We Can Bear” Hezekiah Walker

LYRICS:

If in your life you are going through

And you don’t know really what to do

Just call on Jesus, he will see you through

For he knows, Jesus he knows

How much we can bear

If there are trials that have come your way

And you are looking for a brighter day

Just call on Jesus, he will make away

For he knows,  Jesus he knows

How much we can bear

Transformation Monday

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” Ecclesiastical 3:1

In every season it brings on a whole new climate that will cause us to change and adapt to that season. If we don’t make the necessary changes within that season we will become uncomfortable and feel out of sorts. As it is in the natural so it is in the spirit. In life you will always go through transition,  transformation, change and timing. Changing used to not be one of my strong suits because it seems to be my life story. My life was always changing and  I didn’t like the changes that were going on.  I can’t say that I adapted or handled them all well. It would literally make me cringe. I had a routine of how I wanted things to go and when anything came to alter that it would mess things up for me. Change is inevitable but your response to change can either launch you or delay your process in moving forward. One day I realized that and it changed my whole perspective on how I looked at change. Change is not always a bad thing and even if it is how we handle it will determine what comes next. I also realize that not all change was bad and the change I wanted to see had to begin in me. Our response plays a big part in making a difference in whatever transition we may experience. As I begin to take more on my identity of Christ not only did I begin to change but things begin to change in my life for the better. Now when there is some sort of change I go to God for the answers and for direction to  help me get through this next season. God never intended for us to stay where we begin, but to transform into what He has called us to be. “Be the change that you wish to see in the world” Mahatma Gandi

The Direct Timing Of God

I hadn’t even been in my house for a year and I have seen more caterpillars and butterflies than I have seen in years. They are becoming a rarity. One day I saw 4 caterpillars in a row. I got so excited, like a little kid I decided to collect them. I got a jar and made sure there were different sizes of grass for them to crawl on, that there was enough grass at the bottom for them to eat from and there were enough holes at the top for them to breath. I made sure to continue to check on them from time to time. One day I checked on them and noticed that one of them had died, one had gotten away and the others were decreasing in size. I had never seen anything like it. I couldn’t figure out for the life of me what was happening. I heard something say let them go. I really didn’t want to, but since my method wasn’t working I did so. Not sure if they even survived, but I never saw to many more after that. Today as God was downloading some stuff into me he took me back to that moment a year ago and said the reason why they were dying is because you had confined them into a place they were never meant to fit in and you tried to transform them into something before their time. They weren’t ready to be transformed into butterflies yet. To everything there is a time and a season. The process is unavoidable, but because you were trying to turn them into something before their timing it was becoming detrimental to their health. If you aren’t careful you can conform to the opinons and identity of others instead of transforming to the identity of Christ which you are called to. Don’t allow anyone to confine you to a place (a box) that you were never meant to fit in. Your were never designed to live in bondage. But don’t go ahead of God’s timing. Even when God shows us certain things it doesn’t mean that we are suppose to immediately go.  When it is your time and your season you will know it. Not only will you be able to sense it in the air, but as you get into position everything else will fall into place. Someone asked tthe question, how will know that you are in your purpose. It’s something that really can’t be explained other than you will just know. Be ye anxious for nothing, wait on the direct timing of God. Your season of change is coming quicker than you think and you can’t afford to let it pass you by this time. Ready yourself to jump in when God says NOW! Get in position because you are next in line.

What’s In Your Garden

Mary, Mary quite contrary, tell me how does your garden grow?

I’m finally starting to see some life being produced from my garden. Something’s were planted last year and something’s a couple of months ago. Every seed that is sown doesn’t produce at the same time. They each have their own time in which you will see evidence. Some of them I never noticed they had grown until oneday I happened to look in that direction and said, “Now where did that come from all of a sudden”. I never even watered it, but it still has grown and is strong. Some of them I have had to water every other day so the roots can set beneath the soil. The fact that the buds are beginning to blossom means that it’s working. It’s going to take a lot of work, but anything worth having is worth the time, energy and investment in order for it to grow and then doing what it takes to maintain it so it will stay healthy and continue to grow strong. In your garden you will sometimes produce seeds that you didn’t sow for. I realized that when cutting my grass there are some weeds that are constantly growing. Though some of them are beautiful because they actually look like flowers if not cut off at the root they will spread and can be deadly to other things that I am growing. There are some seeds that have been planted that you need to keep, but you need to let it grow to maturity before uprooting and replanting so that it will survive. Good seeds produced in it’s proper season can be benefical. My daddy said that I have a couple of cherry trees growning. I said, “Well how do you know?” I can tell by it’s leaves. His advice was to keep watering and let them grow a little before replanting them. One plants, one waters, but God gives the increase. #CLEANTHISHOUSE

Delayed But NOT Denied

What’s Coming Is Better by Deon Kipping

He Will Do by Deon Kipping

As I was looking out the window today and I was pondering on somethings I found myself questioning God, Lord how much longer do I have to wait? Have you ever been right at the threshold, but for God to say not yet. You can see it on the other side of the glass and God says, wait just a little while longer. What seemed so far away is now standing in your face, but yet you haven’t been granted the access to enter in. We live in a microwave generation where we want everything now and don’t want to wait for anything. There were times I was stuck in traffic and how impatient I would become because I had somewhere to be, but to later come across an accident. Standing in a grocery line that would just not move,  but someone in the parking lot just got robbed. We may never understand the reason for waiting, but we must trust God still.  “Be not weary in well-doing, for in due season you will reap if you faint not” Gal 6:9 When God has us in awaiting or holding position it is because it isn’t time yet. It’s not that we have been denied access, but only delayed. He’s preparing us for something that we can’t handle right now. While in waiting it’s so easy to lose hope,to give up, become discouraged, to turn around and go back to the familiar. The process is necessary so don’t give up, don’t lose heart. He will do just what He said. #CLEANTHISHOUSE
