Strategic Moves

“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye”

Psalms 32:8

Growing up I would always watch my father and his friends play chest. They would sit there for hours at time. You could see the seriousness on their faces, as they were very careful about the moves they would make. My father would try to teach me how to play, but I just couldn’t get it. It just seemed too complicated, so I never learned how to play.

It wasn’t until a couple of months ago that I became interested while I was doing a photo shoot  that involved chest, where we had to pretend like we were playing.  So I could at least look like I knew what I was doing, I asked my opponent if he could teach me how to play. It ended up not being as hard as I thought.

If you have veered yourself off the goal, reset your eyes

Today’s Word

move

verb

  • go in a specified direction or manner; change position
  • change the place or position of
  • take action
  • make progress; develop in a particular manner or direction

The object to playing chest is to make sure you are able to get to the other side without your King being taken.  Each piece has a certain roll that they play. Depending on the moves that you make it will either advance you forward or cause your men to be captured and you loosing the game.  The goal is to get to the other side.

Negative things that we can be led by:

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths”

Proverbs 3:5-6 Proverbs Chapter-3

Every decision you make today will affect your tomorrow, so be wise in the decisions that you make today

In life you are going to be faced with many obstacles and challenges that will cause you to have to make some very tough choices and decisions. Depending on the choices that you make it will either advance you to the next level that God has designed for you or it will push you further behind.

When we have a relationship with Jesus Christ, know his voice and follow his plan, we will not be so easily led astray.  It is important that we maintain a strong relationship with him and that we become strengthen through his word and through prayer. Continuing to go back to be restored and healed is escentual, that we may be able to hear him clearly and aren’t led away by our own emotions.

God said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” and he sends his angels to surround us as a sheild of protection. So no matter what we go through or face, as long as we stay under his covering we will always be protected.

In those times when we feel like he has left us, he hasn’t. Sometimes it is that we have strayed away from the path and or his presence. The good news is that we can always get back on track.

Declaration:
I AM faithful

Ephesians 1:1

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:”

Whenever I am in a relationship with someone I am always faithful to that person. I don’t hang out with other men, even those who are my best friends. I try to be there for them. I watch my conversations and the company that I keep. I don’t seclude myself totally from others, but out of respect for them. Call me old school, but I don’t want to give any room for anything. Not that I think anything would happen or go wrong, but I feel when your with someone you wouldn’t have the need or desire to hang around someone of the opposite sex than you.  I know that everyone’s views are a little different, but that’s mine. I believe that you do need friends and  for me female friends have always been the lesser of the two, but yet and still I feel like there is a fine line when it comes to that. There should still be some type of boundaries. If you aren’t careful your friendships can sometimes come in between your relationships. Look at the relationship between a dog and man. He is faithful unto death. Wherever the master is there you will find the dog. When you are faithful to someone or anything for that matter not only is it building a form of trust, but respect, loyalty, strength, honesty, dignity and self control. Where there is no trust you pretty much don’t have anything. Matthew 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” Many of us want to be rulers, but yet we can’t be faithful to one thing whether it’s a relationship, our job, our church, etc. Our fleshly nature can sometimes  be selfish and want everyone to be committed to us and yet we aren’t committed to anyone but ourselves. Faithfulness not only will get us into places with man, but into the heart of God. Even though people may not always be as faithful and committed to me as I am to them because my heart has the desire to do right that I remain faithful even when they are not. That doesn’t mean that I become a fool and let people take me for granted. I don’t do it to seek the reward from man, but my Father which is in heaven. For greater is my reward when I please the Lord.Â
