All of my life I have always been fascinated with lighthouses and never really knew why until now. From an early age anything that I would draw it normally included a lighthouse on it. My dream was to some day collect lighthouses and to one day see a lighthouse. This year part of my dream has come true and I was able to see a lighthouse. I went to go visit my daughter in L.A. and we took the train to go see my family in Cali. My Uncle mentioned that he wanted to take us to go see the lighthouse. You should have seen me. I was like a kid in a candy shop jumping up and down with excitement. They had no idea what this meant to me and neither to what extent did I. The visions that I had when I would see the lighthouse was totally different than what actually happened, but the fact that I was getting ready to see a lighthouse in itself was priceless. Can someone say BUCKET LIST! It was everything that I could have imagined and it was breath taking. It was just like what I had seen in pictures and read about as it set on top of a hill looking over the ocean. You could see miles and miles away. The weather was perfect that day. It was as if time stood still for me and I breathed in every moment of it. Lighthouses is a tower, building or structure that was designed to emit light from a system of lamps and lenses and used as a navigational aid or maritime pilots at sea or on inland water ways. Lighthouses mark dangerous coastlines, hazardous shoals, reefs, safe entries to harbors, and can also assist in aerial navigation. Light comes in many forms and is one of the most important sources of energy used throughout the world and without it we wouldn’t be able to see and would be some what lost in direction when in the dark. As I look at the state in which our country is living in today we are in a very dark place. It is sad and hurtful to see and experience, but it doesn’t shock me because God said in his word 2 Timothy 3:1 that difficult times would come. In all that is going on don’t loose site of the bigger picture which is that God is coming back. We may not like the things that are happening in our world and nor are we responsible for the decisions that are being made that are out of our control, but we are responsible for our response. They say if you don’t stand for something you’ll fall for anything. You do have a choice and the decisions that you will make especially in the days to come are what will make a difference. Don’t allow the standards of others make you lower yours. In spite the decisions of others STAND FIRM in what you believe. Chose ye this day whom you will serve, but as for me and my house WE WILL SERVE THE LORD. I now realize why my love for lighthouses have been so great. Mathew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” If you are unable to see the light in the midst of your dark place maybe it’s because the light is you. Are you willing to be used by God to be a light that shines from within you. Shine bright like a diamond. Be the light to others who still can’t see.
Life has a way of tearing you apart to the point that even to yourself you become unrecognizable. Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror one day and wondered “Who Am I” Sometime’s it isn’t until everything that you once depended on has been removed or to the point of rock bottom that you finally step away from the scene to refocus, re-evaluate your life as you find yourself of needing to hit the reset button and began again. As easy as we would hope that could be it isn’t as easy as it seems. When you have lost your identity through faults, failures, mistakes, opinions of other people while trying to fit in where they thought you should or who they wanted you to be and even when they created you they still didn’t want you. The process that you have to go through while on the road to recovery, healing, restoration and finding who you are again can be long and painful but is necessary for you to find your true identity and to be able to move forward in your life. The great thing is that in this journey and quest to finding out who you really are and who you were created to be doesn’t have to be done alone. Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee” It is when you seek your identity through the eyes of God and not through the eyes of man that you will find out who you really are. I know that life has thrown you some unexpected blows or it could even be that you are in a place because of poor choices and bad decisions that you have made in your life, but you are never to far down that God can not reach you and you can never be to far removed to still receive his grace. 2 Corinthians 12:9 “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me” No matter how many people have left you, abandoned you, dropped you, said you were nothing, would never be nothing or amount to anything God simply wanted me to remind you that YOU ARE WORTH IT and if you still have doubt or need more clarification that he does, remember that he died on the cross just for you and me. No matter what you’ve done, what’s been done to you or where you have been YOU ARE WORTH IT. You are never to broken or too damaged beyond repair. God still has need of thee, YOU ARE WORTH IT!

I think that the Transformers is probably one of my best Action movies. I am fascinated with their whole transformation from a vehicle or air craft into these unbelievable creations. You would have never thought all of that was built inside of one. It all came out when they were ignited by a greater force than themselves. I think about the process that it had to take to even create something so great and for every thing to function properly. I am sure there were a lot of mistakes made and retakes. They had a vision of the final process and though it took a lot of energy, time, investment and sacrifices they did what was necessary to complete the task and reach their goal. Nothing is given without sacrifice. In order for God to save the world He had to sacrifice His only Son. If you aren’t willing to make the sacrifice for “IT” 9 times out of 10 it want come to pass. I will have to admit I am not one who has the best vocabulary, may not use the best pronunciation or even the best diction, but I am at this point in life that I am willing to do whatever it takes to better myself for where God is taking me to. I sometimes more than not find myself getting tripped up on words that are similar in appearance but their meanings are different, like won’t and want. I know what I want to say at the time, but then when I’m getting it out it may come out the wrong way. Now I’m trying to go through the process of transformation. Transforming and undoing years of wrong learning, teaching and bad habits that I’ve picked up along the way. Sometimes you don’t know what you’ve been doing wrong until The Lord sends you someone along your path to not only tell you, but also showing you and helping you through the process. A lot of people want to tell you your wrong doings, but never show you or help you through the process. In this process we have to be willing to accept corrective criticism and be open to change. Not everyone is out to hurt you or hope that you will fail. I hadn’t always been in that place to accept or receive that. It would actually make me cringe. The problem wasn’t so much other people as I thought, but it was what I thought and how I viewed myself. I walked around with a wall up, guarded and on the defense feeling the need to protect myself because of things I experienced all the way down to my childhood. I thought that it was helping me, but it was only hurting me and left me broken and damaged goods. When I finally made the choice to forgive the process of my thinking began to change which changed my life. Though this process hasn’t been easy and it is a day by day sometimes minute by minute step I can not only see but feel the change in my life. Sometimes you have to get sick and tired of being sick and tired not so much of other people I was sick of ME. The transformation ALWAYS begins with the individual. The day I began to sacrifice myself up to God was the day my life changed forever. #CLEANTHISHOUSE
